20th September, last Saturday, it was just like any normal weekend, me needing to send my car to car service while she stayed at home, sleeping.
While I was waiting for my car being serviced, she text ed me a picture of 'Waffle with ice cream and whipped cream' from 'The Daily Grind" located in Bangsar.
"okay later we'll go to Bangsar and eat there ok?"
"ok"
Drove to Bangsar that evening even though my car was not in mint condition, my fan stopped working after the service. Had to survive the KL traffic in my uncomfortable car without air-cond some more. But the journey was worth it as the food were damn good. She was feeling dizzy through out the journey back to our home which was a 40 minutes drive away from KL.On the way back, she opted to see my parents as it's been 1 month since we last saw them.
Out of no where, I asked her,
"Why not we take a pregnancy test first?"
We both laughed hysterically and paused.
"Ok, let's go to the nearest pharmacy." she agreed my 'silly' suggestion.
She asked me to fetch the pregnancy test myself as I was the one who came out with the crazy idea.
"Which one's the cheapest pregnancy test you have?"
"Here it is, it's RM5.00"
"Ok i changed my mind, I don't want it to be that cheap to be honest"
"Ok, then why not take this for RM10.00"
"I'll take it."
Took the thingy and went straight back home with my wife. Gave her all the attention needed. She asked to stop treating her as if she was pregnant!
Then she took the test, and I was left standing outside the living room. After a while, she called my name as I entered my bedroom, and there I saw two straight red lines on pregnancy test.
Alhamdulillah.
"Not yet! This can't be confirmed, this is only one pregnancy test!"
She took another 2 just to confirmed with two different brands. and yes.
Still pregnant. Both of us were speechless and half way through tears. Things needed to be sorted out. Financially, career wise and families. There are a lot of things to forward to and hell loads of things to be done.
I started this blog just to share some moments and expereience as I'm about to become a 'Dad'. There will also be a few hints and tips I learned that I believe are good to share. So here's to a beginning of a new journey from me and my wife delivering a baby. Nervous? nah Im not. But I'm Psyched.
Bismillah.
